Wiltz celebrates its diversity at the longest table in the country
The whole of Luxembourg is eagerly awaiting these celebrations: after the official enthronement, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie will honour five locations within the country with their visit on 4 October 2025 – and will also pay a festive visit to Wiltz. In the Ardennes town, the organising team has decided to put the residents at the heart of the folk festival – and invite several hundred people to the table.
To mark the change of throne, a unique intercultural festival will take place on 4 October in the heart of Wiltz, highlighting diversity and community. The Grand-Rue will become a lively open-air backdrop – around the longest table in Luxembourg, where hundreds of people will eat together. Not only on the Grand-Rue, but also on the festival of the amphitheatre, numerous live acts will be performed into the night – with a musical highlight from soul divas Selah Sue and Claire Parsons.
Take a seat – just be our guest
To ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from this place of dialogue and openness, the banquet table will be set three times throughout the day, each time for 160 people. Seats for the following time slots are now available for advance purchase:

The centrepiece is a 150-metre-long banquet table covered with a woven tablecloth from the Duchfabrik Esch-Sauer (Öewersauer Nature Park). The textile artwork stretches across large parts of the Grand-Rue, filling Wiltz with a festive charm. The long table is lined with individually painted plates, which were designed by the children of the Maisons Relais in a participatory summer workshop together with COOPERATIONS under the supervision of Luxembourg artist Lisa Junius. The residents of the Geenzebléi retirement home also helped to decorate the plates – each serving plate is truly unique.
These are accompanied by refined glasses, which were created jointly by Brasserie Simon and the artists of CooperationsART. The restaurants on Grand-Rue – including La Bourse, Braise Dorée, Amrit, A Tasquinha, Beim Schlass, Karameli and Fischer – serve their specialities at the banquet table, from which guests can serve themselves freely. Drinks are served from mobile bars.
Free concert: Selah Sue live at the amphitheater
Musical performances and participatory art projects will create a colourful atmosphere along the banquet table on Grand-Rue. From 12:30 pm, the festivities will be extended with a large public viewing of the Grand Duke's nationwide tour: the audience will be able to follow the stages of the tour live on a large screen. At 2:20 p.m., Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie will be welcomed ceremoniously in Wiltz. Visitors can expect a participatory video installation and musical performances at the official reception in the amphitheatre.
From 3:20 p.m., the amphitheatre and Grand-Rue will be transformed into a large party area with several shows, music and theatre performances. The musical highlight of the evening will be a free concert by Belgian soul and pop icon Selah Sue, who will take to the stage at around 7 p.m. with a special band line-up and perform selected songs together with Luxembourgish jazz vocalist and composer Claire Parsons.
Photo campaign – Wiltz shows its face
Starting in mid-September, the municipality of Wiltz will be sending a strong public message of openness, diversity and genuine hospitality with a large-scale photo campaign. Under the title ‘Wëllkomm zu Wooltz’, 20 portraits will appear at central locations in the Éislek region – as a visible invitation to everyone to take a seat at this table together. In collaboration with photographer Tom Jungbluth, more than 20 people of Wiltz were photographed – symbolically keeping one or more seats at their table free for guests. The photos were taken in the style of political poster campaigns – direct, approachable and self-confident. They serve as a visible sign of a modern, cosmopolitan Wiltz that welcomes people from all walks of life.
